Salary range: $17.30-$19.00

Do you love customer service and working with people? As a cashier at our new family-owned market in Palo Alto, you are responsible for an amazing customer experience at the front-end of the store. You will assist customers during checkout, performing all cash register functions and bagging groceries. You are also responsible to work in our grocery aisles to face products and maintain full and attractive product displays. You will ensure customers walk out delighted by always providing the best customer service.

What you'll do: Responsibilities

  • Help customers and address their needs quickly and with friendly, heartfelt service. Our goal is to delight the customer and exceed their expectations!

  • Follow the processes for customer check out, sales of alcoholic beverages and frequent use of PLUs and UPCs (you don’t mind memorizing lots of codes for products)

  • Follow processes for handling cash; Understand, meet and exceed regional cashier variance policy (CVP).

  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment by changing tapes and ribbon as needed, sweeping floors, and completing sweep logs.

  • Address customer calls quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.

  • You may be cross-trained to ensure attractive displays by keeping shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating, and removing out-of-date products.

  • Maintain accurate department signage and pricing; Follow established procedures to report errors in retail pricing or signage.

  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
