BAKER / CAKE DECORATOR

Are you passionate about baking, take pride in the details and love working with people? We’re looking for a team member at our family-owned market to create cakes and desserts in our bakery department. Full time position. This will be 35-40 hours per week depending on business needs. This position reports to the Bakery manager.

What you'll do: Responsibilities

  • Creating products at a fast pace while staying focused on completing successive individual tasks, consistently and at high quality.

  • Stock our bakery case with fresh high-quality products ready to offer our customers

  • Produce artistic and attractive desserts

  • Prepare a variety of cakes and desserts consistently and in a time effective manner

  • Deliver consistently excellent customer service and address needs of customers in a timely and effective way. Our goal is to delight the customer and exceed their expectations!

  • Other duties as assigned

Who you are: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • You are passionate about baking

  • Creative, with an eye for color, texture and design;

  • Attention to detail; and the ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining a clean, sanitary and attractive work environment.

  • Experience in a retail environment producing a large number of cakes/desserts daily is a must.

  • You have excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team

  • You’re able to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members and customers

  • You follow instructions and procedures

  • You manage your time and effort effectively

  • You have a strong work ethic and integrity

  • You are able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • You can work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness

Desired work experience

  • At least 1 year of bakery experience

  • Customer service experience
