HEAD CASHIER
Are you passionate about working with customers and have a knack for numbers? We’re looking for a Head Cashier at our family-owned market in Palo Alto. In this position, you’ll be responsible for customer transactions, helping to train new team members and build rapport with our team. We’re looking for a motivated and highly organized professional with retail cashier experience and a knack for numbers. This position reports to the Store Manager.
What you'll do: Responsibilities
Manage the check-out area and ensure the section is secure, organized and efficiently run
Ensure customer transactions are processed quickly and with friendluy customer service
Resolve cash tills at the end of every shift and generate accurate till reports for each register
Mentor cashiers in ensuring they master outstanding customer service; work to maintain a positive work environment for cashier team
Resolve team conflicts daily and manage team to ensure high performance and motivation
Develop and manage department schedule
Manage and perform all check-out functions
Communicate clearly, openly and positively with customers
Respond to Cashiers’ requests for price checks and other functions for customer service
Serve as the primary point-of-contact for customer service associates. This includes listening to and addressing customer feedback, complaints and questions, in a fast and friendly manner, and referring them to the store manager as needed.
Ensure all stations have adequate cash and change at all times

Desired work experience
High school diploma/GED required
5+ years’ experience in cash handling and customer service
High level of responsibility, leadership skills and organization
Ability to efficiently run all cashier stations
Willingness to recruit and train Cashiers
